These data represent one indicator of Sustainable Development Goal 12 to ensure sustainable production and consumption patterns. Specifically, Target 12.5 aims to substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse by 2030.

Nine countries did not have 2015 data and were removed from this visualization (Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Uganda, Jamaica, India, Rwanda, Jordan, Chile, Kazakhstan).

Six countries did not have 2019 data and were removed from this visualization (Cuba, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Liechtenstein, Martinique, Réunion).
